Why is it important to donate blood? I’m not going to say much… just take a look at these pics:

This could be someone you know. Please donate blood and save lives!

  1. You gave a wonderful presentation in class, it was very moving. Thank you for sharing your story.

My grandfather started donating blood when he was 16 years old. He was a cook on a Navy warfare ship during WWII. 50 years later he had 3 open heart sugeries. The hospital did not make him pay for the blood transfusions because he donated blood at this location for 3 decades.

I hope that some of our classmates are inspired by your story and will donate in the future.

  2. This is very interesting and the photos are so sad! We are sometimes scared to donate. I remember that every few months, a big car for blood donation is coming at Lynn but i never went there because of the pain. Next time I will try do something for this people!

  3. Ren, thanks for the compliment. What your grandfather did is very unselfish of him and I'm sure that he saved a lot of lives over the 30 years plus that he donated blood. People like the ones above need our help, but not everybody knows about it or, even worse, some people are too busy thinking about their insignificant problems. The more we educate, the more lives we save.
Ioana, if you get scared or anxious about donating blood, then i could come with you the next time the bus is on campus. Try to not go alone. This usually helps a lot.

  4. I think is very important if we will start to donate blood and be aware of what is happening around the world. But.. unless you do not feel it on your skin, you don't realize the importance.
